Police Scotland Campaign

The festive period represents the most significant time of the year for increased reports of domestic abuse incidents. Police Scotland's Domestic Abuse Campaign proactively targets perpetrators of domestic abuse to reduce the number of domestic incidents during the festive period and to also encourage reporting of abuse. If you have been affected by any of these issues, speak to an Advisor at Breathing Space on 0800 83 85 87.

The aim of this study, which has been developed by the School of Psychology at the University of Dundee, is to help identify key reasons why middle aged men are at risk with depression. The research hopes to aid health professionals in better diagnosis and understanding of men’s experiences with depression and in doing so help reduce the stigma that surrounds men discussing their concerns over their mental wellbeing. In order to participate, the study is aimed at men aged 35-58 years old with ...

Deafblind Scotland Santa Dash 2014

Our partners Deafblind Scotland will be raising awareness and funds to support deafblind adults in Scotland through their annual Santa Dash. The dash takes place on 14th December at Mugdock Country Park, Milngavie. A Christmas Fayre and tree light switch-on will be taking place, with the option of participating in a 5km or 1km run.  It's a great way to get some exercise in the lead up to Christmas and support a worthwhile cause.

World AIDS Day

It's World AIDS day on 1st December, an opportunity for people to raise awareness and fundraise for the 100,000 people in the UK currently living with HIV. Mental health difficulties, including emotional distress, depression and anxiety are more likely to be experienced by people living with HIV.  Support from other people, whether from family, friends or professional help, can make a huge difference to someone's life.

The festival is organised by Men’s Health Forum Scotland and aims to engage men in Scotland and beyond in healthy, physical activity all year round.
