Established in 2006, the Celtic FC Learning Centre was developed in conjunction with Glasgow City Council to promote the benefits of education, healthy living and social inclusion to young people across the West of Scotland.
The learning centre offers a ten week programme of classroom based work and sporting activity where issues of healthy living and social inclusion are also addressed; Breathing Space will be delivering a mental health and wellbeing element to the programme.
Pupils attending the centre will also be made aware of NHS Living Life, a free telephone service which helps individuals understand some of the reasons why they are feeling low and teach new ways of coping (through telephone sessions with a self-help coach or therapist). This message will also reach out to parents and guardians of the young people involved.
This complements other work undertaken by Breathing Space/ NHS Living Life at clubs which include Motherwell FC and Rangers FC.
