Prisoners Week Scotland

Throughout the country events are organized by Prison Chaplains and local Churches seeking to engage in discussion with community groups and representatives about matters that concern prisoners, victims of crime and all who care.

In Scotland, Prisoners Week was organized initially as part of the work of the Joint Prisons Chaplaincies Board. Now it is through an ad hoc ecumenical Planning Group. This year the group comprises; Chaplains, Chaplaincy Advisers and representatives from Faith in Throughcare, Families Outside, HOPE, The Jacob Project, The Ministries Council (Church of Scotland), Prison Fellowship Scotland, Victim Support Scotland, The Howard League Scotland, Restorative Practice Scotland, The Society of Friends and Sanctus Media - publicity material is offered together with some support and co-ordination for a number of events.
